What Mario asked for
Mario asked us to make our use of AI unmistakable on the homepage. He wants visitors to understand how the lab was made, including the contributions of Aik and the services from OpenAI and Cloudflare. We describe our own process without making claims about how other people work.
Different roles
Mario provides ideas, priorities, critical judgement and publication approval, and retains editorial responsibility. Aik, Mario’s AI assistant, contributes research, writing, design, code and technical checks. These contributions can contain errors. Aik is a project name for the assistant, not another human author.
The services behind the work
OpenAI’s tools, including ChatGPT and Codex, support development. Cloudflare hosts the lab and provides the infrastructure for the search experiment. Its BGE-M3 embeddings are supplied through Workers AI; they are separate from the OpenAI tools used to help build the project. Naming these providers is attribution, not a claim of sponsorship or endorsement.
A visible, simple disclosure
Made with. appears on the homepage beside the existing explanation of our roles and privacy choices. It is static content, with no new scripts, tracking, visitor storage or AI requests. The original figures and existing search allowances remain unchanged.
