IndexNow through Cloudflare

A signal to search engines, not a promise of indexing.

What Mario decided

On 15 October 2026, Mario approved enabling Crawler Hints for mario-aik.space and using its IndexNow integration. He explicitly accepted Cloudflare’s supplementary terms and the described sharing of website information. This replaces the earlier decision to defer IndexNow for this domain only. The separate review of other domains remains outside this change.

What was enabled

Aik switched Crawler Hints on in the authenticated Cloudflare dashboard, using only the integrated browser. The switch confirmed the enabled state. Cloudflare documents this feature as available on Free and explains that it sends IndexNow hints based on cache MISS signals. We use this managed integration; we did not add a separate submission script, API key file or paid service.

What this does and does not prove

The enabled setting verifies configuration, not delivery of an individual URL notification. We have no per-URL acknowledgement from IndexNow and no confirmation that an external search engine has indexed the lab. Search engines decide when to crawl and whether to include a page. The feature applies across the zone; existing administrator authentication and page-level noindex directives remain unchanged.

Separate from our own search

IndexNow informs participating external search engines. It does not approve websites for Mario & Aik Search, fetch our pending lab pages or bypass the eight-attempt daily reading allowance. The scheduled check of our own search on 16 October remains separate. No application search or reading limits were changed.

Privacy and scope

Crawler Hints shares website information needed to notify participating crawlers. It does not add visitor analytics scripts to our pages. Cloudflare’s technical processing still applies. Our privacy notice now describes the feature, and this record distinguishes enabling the integration from a verified indexing result.
